    Default Microsoft Outlook Problem

Someone I met recently told me that whever he gets an email in Microsoft Outlook, he gets a double. Anyone know why that happens or how to fix it?

Sounds to me like he has his account setup twice in outlook, and one of them is set to keep the mail on the server. So then, when the first account is done sending and receiving, it leaves the mail on the server (as new mail) and the second one sees it sitting there, and pulls it down again.

Profiles are separate from accounts.. if he's only got one profile configured, dont remove it. Profiles are configured through the MAIL icon in the control panel.. accounts are configured through the Tools->Accounts menu within the program.

Sgtm is suggesting that the account is entered twice, and that's very possible.

There are a few other possibilities though.. one is that his profile is corrupt. This is easily checked by recording all his account settings, and exporting his mail to a .PST file and backing up his address book, then deleting his profile and recreating it. Then, just import the .PST and address book file to get all his mail and contacts back.

Does this account have webmail access? Check to see if duplicates are sitting on the server (unlikely).
