    Default G92 = 8700gts

Well for all those that wanted the 9 series, looks like it's not going to happen.

VR-Zone has learned more about the upcoming Nvidia G92 where the official marketing name is most likely to be GeForce 8700 GTS. As revealed earlier, G92 is 65nm based and has 256-bit memory bus width. The reference 8700 GTS card has 8-layer PCB and comes with 512MB GDDR3 1ns memories so the memory clock of G92 is estimated to be between 900Mhz to 1GHz. Core clock is unknown yet.

Heh heh, more numbers to figure out what they mean, lol. I guess that the "ten thousand series" doesn't quite sound as good as "G ninety two"... I'll still pick up an 8800 or something in a couple years, or whatever's affordable and all.

It doesnt have higher specs then the 8800GTX, its actually much worse. Its not as high-end as that.

Sadly that means I'm out for a next generation card. Is there any news of other new cards?

Basically I bet that nVidia is going to sit on the 8800 series until ATi makes a very powerful move to get the gpu wars back in motion.

(I also predict the same for Intel).

I wonder if this is actually true.....

Ya really. I'm waiting to get my gfx card. I was going to get an 8800GTS 640MB but the G90 is like right around the corner (according to everyone).

I agree with Omega, The 8800Ultra will be the benchmark until AMD brings out something that can match it and thats when Nvidia will bring out their new WMD lol.
