    Default red 40mm fans

Greetings all! alright, i've looked everywhere and i CAN'T for the life of me find any red LED 40mm fans. most places only seem to have solid black and the occasional blue LED fan. if anyone knows where i can pick a few red ones up, it would be greatly appreciated. that way i'll finally be able to finish my project and showcase it to all of you thanks a ton guys!

I truly apologize. I totally overlooked the fact that you were looking for 40MM fans and only noted that you were looking for red LED fans. If I may ask, what exactly is it that you need these fans for? Maybe we can help you come up with an alternative

hey that's no problem. everyone overlooks things.

what am i doing? well, a while back there was a writeup of a guy who mounted his external HDD inside a metal game box. i did the same thing only in a Quake III metal box, and since Quake has a "red" theme to it (basically the logo) i wanted to put two red LED fans on either end of the I/O ports (go to http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/f...ead.php?t=1083 to see the pictures if you're at all interested) to help cool the drive, as well as two 40mm Quake III logo fan grills (which i amazingly found at Directron).

if i can't find red 40mm fans, it won't matter too much, i'll just use black and maybe stick a few red LEDs inside the case for light instead. either or, thanks for your help

I don't know where you could find them. Sorry, you could always just paint the fans. There are other threads here on how to paint a fan

I'd go with Weirds suggestion - changing the LEDs in a fan is no huge mod job - little solder and careful drilling is all. Most illuminated fans are clear plastic with all the colour coming from the LEDs - the obvious exception being those with coloured plastic and UV leds.
