Thread: Vista 32 bit or 64 bit?

  1. #1

Default Vista 32 bit or 64 bit?

I am not to familiar with what this is, I never had installed an OS since I have bought all of my computers but what is the difference between this 2 versions? I am building a gaming computer and since I heard that the 64 bit versions uses all 4 gigs, I want to know if its worth to buy 4 gigs and use the 64 bit for gaming

For the average gamer i would say go with 2 gigs and 32 bit, it will save you alot of hassle with drivers. Like for me i went 64 bit and my wireless adapter doesnt have a driver, and after consulting google for an hour+ and posting here, i came to the conclusion that it would just be easier and more cost effective to run a 10 ft cable to my wireless router and plug it in. rather then buy an adapter that had a 64 bit driver

For the 32 bit version, 2 Gigs is the G-Spot for this version. But the OS wont recgonize anymore than 3.5 Gigs, cause of the way its was written. For Now...

With an upgrade to 64 Bit, Windows will see the extra 2 gigs when you go to 4 gigs.

I friend of mine went to 64 bit and is a gamer, adn the 64 bit has given nothing but minor troubles.

I suggest going with the 32 bit version, also, SP1 is comming for Vista soon.

if all you useing is the mb and vidio card get 64 bit if you have aftermarket sound ect then get 32 bit.. havent notice much of a diffrence between 4 and 2 gigs but 64 bit like night and day faster...
