Default Can you have a fan/exhaust on the bottom of case???

Obviously the case would be on wheels but what are the negatives and positives if their are any...

One would be dust entering from the floor but then if u were to have a exhaust down the bottom wouldnt it possibly remove some dust???

What do you guys think... any imputs great

    Cheers ROBBO

Generally if you put a fan on the bottom of the case you would want it to be intake. This is because hot air rises. If you put exhaust on the bottom, the only air your getting rid of is the cooler air in the case.

If anything, make an intake on the bottom. And yes, you may have issues with dust. Id recommend some kind of filter so as to not have so much of a dust issue.

just put a screen in, dust is going into your case wether you like it or not, just keep an eye on it, make sure it doesn't build up like crazy and you should be good usually front, bottom and sides are intake, back and top are exhaust, this is because of the heat transfer design of most cases...i guess if you wanna really do it then go ahead but not a good idea i would think

If you do this, just expect temps to be a little bit higher.

    Thanks.

Yes, that plan sounds much better.

If you are worried about dust getting into the case, some of these

or something similar can help so that you don't get as much dust in your case. You would have to clean them every once in a while, but thats easier than cleaning off all your components.

In a fanless case, sure, the air will rise gently. Stick a couple of fans in there though, and the air current produced will completely swamp any convection currents. So the whole hot air rising thing doesn't really make a difference.
However, it's best to arrange airflow through the computer rather than in and out all over the place. So, starting with the PSU fan which is nearly always at the top rear, it makes sense to put intake fans opposite this, and exhaust fans such that they help it.

So the convention is in at front lower, out at upper rear.
