I wonder why, it's a great idea. Something had to have been left out or they ran out of funds.

Then again... prototype = all the funds so apparently no1 wanted a piece of dat

Lets just say. (If your T-boned)

    1. The driver and person riding shotgun will die.
    2. The car will be unrepairable, even with new panels

If your hit by a slow moving car, then your going to have to replace the entire door system, which is pricey.

    Agreed.

While it looks cool, it would not be very functional where I live. Lots of back roads+too many moving parts=door stuck halfway down. Not cool at all.

+rep for the find, give em a decade or so, and this *could* become a standard feature.

That is awesome. About crashes and all... people should really start taking more care driving so we don't have to worry about it so much. And yes, I know, crap happens.

Some jerkwad swerved into my lane when I was driving home... surprisingly I reflexively swerved around the guy and nothing bad happened. Still scared the crap out of me.

I hate doing anything on the road besides driving. I mean, come ON people, at least TRY to do all that crap at home before you get ready for work. Lazy asses. lol

Oh yeah, drunk driving should really be nonexistent too... although everyone is smart enough, they ignore the common sense and everything (if anything) telling them to not drive like that. Plus being intoxicated screws with your judgment. No booze or drugs for me, thanks.

i've had that happen to me once i think, but i have done it to other people on the highway so i guess some things just do happen.

as much as i would like to believe everyone is smart enough, some aren't. i i'm not going to say never, but as long as i'm sober and or have good friends around i won't drink and drive, i will drink though, mmmm vodka & rum.
