    Default PS3 Bluetooth Remote Hack

I'm thinking of using a Sony Playstation 3 Bluetooth remote to control my HTPC via a Bluetooth USB dongle. They are on sale at my closest CompUSA for $19.99. Now I just have to find out whether it uses Bluetooth 2.0 or 1.1 and buy the proper USB dongle off of then buy both.

Does anybody know off-hand which the PS3 uses to communicate to the Remote? And is there any software or drivers I need to use the remote?

I need lots of buttons though, I'm going to be using it as a multimedia remote. Should it just show up automatically or do I need some sort of drivers?

I intend on picking up a Wiimote later to play around with the drums thing.

First I want to say that I am a HUGE Sony fan! I am not absolutely positive, but I would think that the remote would require a PS3 Emulator which probably doesn't even exist to the public (heck may not exist at all). The remote pairs with the PS3's operating system which would require said emulator to mimick. I seriously doubt there is any existing software being widely developed to pair this remote with a computer, etc.

I did a quick Google search and found that the remote will show up in a Bluetooth search, however it will not pair with a computer. Great idea though. If attempt this project, you are probably going to have to be a very good programmer though. I am interested to see if you are successfull.

    Good Luck.
