Anyone know anything about buying and selling stocks online?

Some may say this is a bad time to do that. I say now is a good time for me to buy, as I expect certain stocks to go back up. And I don't have the most money in the world either. I figured I could do this online, and also monitor everything online as well. I know one option is Etrade. Any other suggestions? Also, anyone have some overall tips or stock suggestions?
