Hey man that is looking awesome see you been working hard too great job +rep
Hopefully should be an update soon guys. I got most of the painted peices back on and redid all teh cable routing and wireing. Should have shot sof that up tomorrow sometime.
I noticed that you painted that part without the Bondo, so maybe you tossed that idea, but here's my 2¢.
Something to bear in mind with regular Bondo is that it does not like to be very thick. When you start getting up to the quarter inch mark and beyond, it cracks very easily, because it has no flexibility. If you're looking to build up a piece, use Bondo with "hair." Hair is threads of fiberglass mixed in to give strength and flexibility (Not to pimp my on pages but, see my MythTV worklog below for pictures of it.) You can use this to fill in large sections, and then cover over it with regular Bondo to get a smooth finish.
Looking great so far!
Well it took forever but I have made a big jump in the process of getting done. The case was being powder coated and it got delayed due to the fact of bad powder. But it got done then the acrylic work took time. To make it all worse a sinus infection and it being the week of halloween(w00t!!) it finally got done. I learned some important things though.
1.Sleep is vital when your sick.
2.Heat guns are the coolest thing ever.
3.Heat guns will melt all sorts of things you never thought they would melt.
4.The cat still hates the dremel.
But here is a big update with almost completed pictures. All that is left now is the detail work.
I have one question... How do the fans get airflow when you have acrylic covering up their vents??? I would think some drilling of some small holes on the acrylic should be in order. But that's just my opinion. Still looks great though.
The power supply I have has a mass of connectors so that is tidied up. they did look worse. I am about to order some shorter sata cables and cut the cables and shorten the power leads to clean it up more. As for air it comes in from the bottom of the front door and there is a slight vent around the acrylic peice in the front and as for the top it blows out the back through a vent in to top of the back. all in al it made the case temp go up 1 degree and and then the cpu temp actually went down one.
I wanna see Berticus take a hammer and hammer the case into a hammer
