    Default Kaypro2 - Resurrection 2005

Another project is here. Here's my Kaypro2 which I will be leaving pretty much the same on the outside, but I be changing all the insides with modern parts. I opened up my Kaypro2 and here's some of the inside pics.

    This. Is. A. Great. Idea.

Now, if you can program your bios to display an animation from "Hunt the Wumpus" or something, that would ROCK! lol

I took apart the kaypro and didn't get a single shock. Here's the motherboard.

And the bottom of the motherboard where it's protected by this sheet.

When I took the motherboard off this is as it was underneath.

Here's looking down at the connections for the monitor.

And the Power Supply. I have no idea of the wattage.

    And here it is empty.

I plugged in the PSU to the motherboard and pressed the button and nothing happened. I don't know if the mobo is dead or not. I tried with 2 different PSU's with the same result.

To be honest I don't even care. Ever since I've finished with R2, I have just gotten bored with modding. I've been pushing my way through my boredom hoping that the Kaypro mod will revitalize my feelings, but it has not. I'm ending it now. This project has been scrapped. I'm sick of troubleshooting problems and I'm tired of crappy component issues. It's better I just stop now before I waste the money on the 6 inch LCD. The parts to include the case, motherboard, processor, memory and keyboard are up for grabs. Anyone who is interested in purchasing them please submit an offer via PM.

Thank you all for your continued interests with my mods. I still have problem areas that I need to work out with R2-D2. The LCD and other pieces need some attention and I will continue to their completion.

Till then I will be taking a break from modding. I still have things I need to do, such as a mod for my mother and for my In-Laws. I will keep you all updated. Thanks again and stay tuned.

    /cry

That's too bad, but totally understandable, man. I was really looking forward to this mod, and hope someone picks it up from you and carries on the torch - it was a great idea, but I can understand the burnout feeling.

Stay in touch on the boards, if nothing else. You've got talent and experience, and your help on the boards will surely be appreciated.
