    3. 2. 1. here goes nothing. Not sure what section this should go in.

    Motherboard: Asus Intel P35 Socket 775 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131225 (139.99)
    HDD: 500 GB SATA http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148288 (119.99)
    GFX: Geforce 8800 GTX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130072 (409.99)
    RAM: 4 x 1GB Kingston http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134596 (144.99)
    PSU: 750 Watt Modular http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817256009 (154.99)
    CPU:
DVD Drive: Samsung Black 20x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151153
    (26.99)
Planning on putting this stuff in a custom case that's dimensions are about:

Trying to keep it from being TOO expensive. Any suggestions?

hey man, this would work better in here: http://www.thebestcasescenario.com/f...splay.php?f=37 as for your rig, i would say get the 512MB 8800 GTS instead of the GTX, the GTX is older and out of date, the new GTS is better, cheaper, and new.

    Hey pretty good build.
I'd recommend an 8800GT. These are the newest cards and the beat out those 8800GTS. Get the 500mb 8800GT, they have performance almost as good as a GTX for about half the price.
Memory: get a 2x2gb kit. Dunno how to explain this, but just trust me two sticks work much better than four.
CPU: you are undecided? how much is your budget for this part?
    Thermaltake 500W
    Asus P5N32-E SLI PLUS 680i
    Core 2 Duo E6550
    2gb Patriot DDR2 800
    XFX 8800GT
    WD 120g

oh right, get a 2x2gb kit if you want 4gb's, there will be less problems. you can also oc better since you only have to oc 2 sticks and not 4.

Yeah, but in theory, 4gb going though 4 ports is faster then 4gb going through 2 ports right?

no, its better to have 2 sticks always. there is less of a chance to get a bad stick of ram and since they are made at the same time it will work better. not sure how else to say it, but i do know its better.
