    Default Project: Moditor

hey its me again with my accual case mod now im not one of you skilled billionares so this will be to the best of my ability and to a budget of cheap dollars

ok this is what i have to start with (ive taken all the old guts out and yes it is an old crt)

    ]

lots of pics, any way i dont have any CADs so ye um thinking of a cdrom coming out of were the buttons were fans on the top of the case and maybe a window at the back for easy access... mbtray of perspex u'll see

um need a colour scheme to idea is to look standard as possible from the outside and nearly every thing clear inside...

    update1

when i cut this section out i realised that there was a big (5mm) gap underneath

i will putty this up later

now the plan was to have the cd rom flat on the bottom but the smart ppl at the ktx company thought lets but some ribs in to make it hard for munkeyboy lol not to hard lil friend called mah dremel knocked that one on the head

the i had to heat up a knife with a mini blowtorch and flaten off the left overs (to lazy to sand) (pic above) looks bad atm but paint and final touch ups will fix this im buying the system as i go.

i have done more of this but i was intending on posting the full worklog when i was done but cant wait ill post more tomorrow btw im 14

tomorrow im going to the tech lab at school in lunch and sanding the mb tray

try to get it up to speed asap... till then

ok it seems i had a bit more time than i thought

    ook the fan idea....
    the plans (plans....?)

i dont have a holesaw 80mm so i just just my dremel
    this is the first section

then rounded it finished sanded drilled holes

the fan to go in the hole

the problem with using that fan

the 'clever' solution (i was inspired off this site)

cut dem bits off and vwala lol

scince i did this step i manages to make the holes stuffed so i got to putty them up and drill them again.... till the next update (maybe tonight?)

Well we all have to start somewhere. I was about your age when I did my first mod, a clear window for my stock PC case...voiding the warranty of course . That was 2 years ago already, a lot happens in 2 years.

A great start and a great idea. What was the original size of the CRT your using?

I am interested to see how this turns out. +subscribe

It just means I have subscribed to your worklog. When someone makes a new post in your worklog my User CP (Control Panel) will notify me when I log in.

While on the topic +rep means someone has given you reputation points for your work. These accumulated and eventually you get more green squares to the right of your name.

    thanx 4 the info

ok i have more time lol
(if time was money i would be rich atm)

ok i thought i would have to have a 'front' to my case so were the old screen was i thought i would but a piece of perspecs and the firt attempt from scrap perspecs looked bad here ill put them up

the i went down to the local bunnings and did some 'haggaling' for cheaper parts (the guy cut it a little and gave it to me 75% off)

unfortunately i didnt take any early pics but u can guess

i heated it up in the oven and bent it to shape(its got glad wrap over it to protect it for the photo it has better protection now [shifty eyes])

fo the back of it like i said i thought i would put a window in i still havent decided but heres the plan if i do

    or

that is the same piece of prespecs it is just better protected now
i was thinking either 2 80mm fans or 1 120mm fan like this

The 120mm fan will be quieter and probably create more air flow.
