    Default Running Fans Without Guts

    Hi All,

I have no idea what response this question will get but...... is there a way to run your installed fans (with power supply installed) without the "guts" of the computer? Just so I can take some action shots with the lighting up and running.

I was not going to install a full computer into every case I mod, so this would be a great way to still see the desired effect?

Definitely. Connect the fans as normal, and then jump the green and black wires together on the motherboard connector for the power supply. PSU will spin up.

Alternately, a PSU tester will do this also, and confirm normal function of the power supply at the same time. I recommend having one if you have lots of hardware to deal with.

Fantastic!! Thanks a lot. Looks like a PSU tester is the way to go.

errr. The correct cell phone charger or any 110v transformer that puts out 12v will power a fan.

just make sure the amps are enough.
