Cool. I saw this a week or two ago. The cool thing is that it is actually a 2.5" drive and the heatsink makes up the rest.
Ahhh, but too much money for a hard drive for me. Never had much issue with waiting for boot times or even loading times.
The good news is I have already seen a price drop in the 32 and 74BG drives. I want to get myself a 74GB drive for vista and a 750GB-1TB drive for the rest of my stuff.

I've been hoping for a more mainstream solution, maybe a 3GB/s 150GB drive in 3.5" (no Ice-pak)

Its about time!
I'm assuming the ICE-Pack is essential for cooling that thing.
More than likely ya. As from the quick glance I had when I looked at it a while ago the connections looked like it would fit right into a laptop as the connections look to be in the same spot. But I'm betting that thing pumps out the heat and thats why they say not compatible with laptops.
Your probably right there. A lap top sized drive that spins at 10,000 rpms, there is gonna be a tone of heat there.

I love the Raptors--a great midway point between 7200 RPM and 15k SCSI.
I still prefer my 15K Fujitsu SCSI ($900 each) for that 2.2ms seek time
