I looked and confirmed what I said in my previous post, that you can wire it the opposite way and it will give you a no-power led. This was pretty much made with the people with the 2 color LED's in mind.

Could get a powered hub and put it inside of your computer and just steal two lines and get 10v? (Still not the 12 you need but...)
