Default Problem with new hard drive

I'm testing a couple of new SATA hard drives for someone, and need some help. Got the first hooked up, BIOS auto-detects it, went in and made sure it was reading the proper capacity, no problem. Get to windows, XP recognizes it and auto-installs it. Device manager lists it and shows it to be working properly. I cannot get it to show up in My Computer as a drive letter. Any ideas??

Problem solved. You need to format the drives for them to show up

EDIT: For those who have installed a drive but don't know how to format it.

    Goto Control Panel>Administrative Tools
Double Click on Computer Management and select Disk Management
Right click on the unallocated space and select New Partition...

Then follow the wizard to format the drive. This guide is for XP. Vista does it differently.

I had the same problem once. I just installed the software that came with the HD and it worked fine.
