Default Socket 478 Watercooling Water Block

Hey, Just a quick question. I have a Pentium 4 Prescott 478 @ 2.8ghz and that damn thing is noisy (and Slow) I thought of installing a watercooling unit but I dont want to spend so much money on this PC so I decided to build A DIY system using parts from the hardware shop with one problem :

    THE WATERBLOCK

I wanted to use the stock fan heatsink and modify it to work as a waterblock.

Any suggestions ? Any will be appriciated.

    Thanks

well the Dtek fuzion V2 and i believe, most others that new out there right now can be used with socket 478 then once you upgrade you can move the block to the new style.

Dtek Fuzion V2 here i a link to the block, i have it and its a great block, best out AFAIK.

are the holes in the same location on the 478 as they are on the 775?

I would believe so but i havent touched a 478 in years.

no. While the distances between all of the holes for 775 are all the same (square-like), the holes on a 478 board are arranged like a rectangle.

thanks for all your help but unfortunately none of my local computer shops stock any watercooling stuff. Im gonna try to reuse the exsisting heatsink and modify it for watercooling.

Hope i dont blow the pc and my self to bits.

Believe it or not, I just went to RadioShack, and they had thermaltake watercooling kits and supplies. They're mainly in the US, though.

don't waste your money on them, thermal take suck in the world of water cooling. you may get ok temps but something will break or leak in 3 months time.

I actually never had anything from TT leak or break. They just dont compare performance wise to the other options available in the same price range. The TT cpu block is a tank and the copper isnt sealed so it will tarnish and turn brown after about 3 months
