its a dude i know who works @ a company where they have loads of CNC machines... he is doing my lasercutting and engraving and another dude works @ a sign factory that has speacialized in acrylic text signs etc

My local electronics store sells chrome plated aluminium spacers in packs of 10 in sizes of 5-10mm. You should have a look at your, may find exactly what you are looking for.
