    lots of unknowns there, dude.

do you have a cpu fan on the mobo? it won't boot w/o the cpu fan plugged in.

be sure that your HDD wires are plugged into the mobo correctly. a crossed wire or misplaced plug could cause the light to come on with no HDD even installed.

but really, it's tough to know anything with your description of the situation. we need specifics if we are gonna help.

No offence, but it sounds like you dont have a CPU fan>?

Or if in doubt, rip everything out, and start again...

A computer will start without a cpu fan. See: Watercooling...

Allthough, if you started it with nothing on the processor, then you fried the cpu.

Put the system back the way it was and see if it'll start. If nothing happens then you probly fried the cpu with your other mobo. Which i suspect is bunk.

I know for sure that socket 370 CPUs won't start without anything, such as a heatsink clipped on tight. I have experience with this. In your case, it seems like this is the problem. I got the exact same thing.

Do you have a heatsink attached with the clip?

Sounds like you've shorted it out. Or plugged something up wrong.
I would check the connectors for damage.
