When I run the Asus plugin, it says my FSB is set to 800(MHz). Does that sound wrong to anyone else? I thought the FSB on my chip (FX-55) was higher than that.

Could be the fact that they double the speed on FSB. Its a marketing scheme. It is kinda like dual channel ram (Correct me on that if im wrong) and It will double your FSB speed by sending more than one packet at a time. So they advertise 800Mhz and its 400Mhz efficiently...or in your case 1.6Ghz and 800mhz efficiently.
How did you come to trade the fiddle for the drum?
Dual channel doesnt double your transfer rate DDR is what doubles it, for ex. 200mhz ddr is 400mhz fsb. I have a post in the memory section explaining the basics of a memory.
drunk: FX-55 has a 2Ghz fsb speed, which means 1000mhz. Most monitoring programs show the mhz when talking about the cpu, so your 800mhz is really 1.6Ghz fsb. If the 1000mhz is supported by your motherboard and other components, you can easily change the 800 to 1000 in the bios.
Where should I look to change that? I'm pretty sure the MB will support it, but I haven't seen a setting for it in BIOS (although it could be labeled something else). I did change the settings for the RAM already, as with 4 512 chips you have to set it to 400 or it will run at 333.
Thanks

I'm not familiar with these specific settings and where you can change them as I dont have an fx or even a 64bit setup, I'm poor and cant afford them yet you can find it in the mobo manual, or a quick search in google could give you what you need. I think you have to change the ram-cpu speed ratio, but as I said i have no experience with them
