    Default A Windows/Linux/Mobo Conundrum

I'm getting close to ordering my machine and I want to be able to run both Windows Vista and Ubuntu (Hardy Heron). So the setup I want to have is this:

    HDD #1: Files/Programs drive formatted FAT32
    HDD #2: Partitioned Windows/Ubuntu with dual-boot

Also I'm planning to use an Asus Striker II Extreme and I've heard of Ubuntu having issues with that board.

I dont see why it would have a problem with the board. The 790i is a very comon and upto-date chipset. See if other boards with the same chipset have simillar problems.

I did, I took a look at an EVGA board. The issues seem to be centred around system stability.

    Striker II Extreme
    EVGA Thing

Also will Vista work properly with that sort of setup? I've heard of it having random errors when placed on a partitioned drive with Ubuntu.

I think it will work fine with Hardy Heron. 7.04 and 6.10 were kinda buggy in my experience with them... It seems to have much more support.
