Guess what I did today?

Oh come on, try and guess.

Yeah, I quit my job. I've been a sysadmin for a town for 3.5 years, and today I finally snapped. Those who know me know that this has been coming for awhile.. I've been completed over worked for the last 2 months, to the tune of 500 hrs last month. Oh did I mention I dont get paid overtime?

Any suggestions for a new job? I'm looking for a good company to work for.

Are you wanting to stay in Olds? Have you looked at the help wanted ads in Fort McMurray? Pretty much every company here is looking for people. Many have signing bonuses, retention bonuses, etc., and even daily living expense bonuses. The downside: living in Fort Mac. The upside: you make enough money that you can afford to get out of town whenever you want.

I may take you up on that idea, sounds like an interesting field.

It is funny though, the wikipedia example of a plc circuit is nearly identical to a circuit I designed for my Heavy Water project..

Well, I'm doing my own thing right now, working for myself with my consulting company. I did a hdd recovery today, and have a full day lined up tomorrow.

I find out on Sept 3rd if the town wants to bring me back. I made a proposal for a very different position, and the creation of a new position.
