    Default Laptop Memory

So I bought a IBM Thinkpad T30 for my kids to watch DVD's and play games in the car. It holds a Max of 1GB (2x 512) of memory. Memorygiant shows that it uses DDR266. Will it actually be able to use DDR400 (running at 266) or does it HAVE to be DDR266?

I did a little research and found out that after a BIOS update I can upgrade the laptop to 2GB of DDR333 (instead of 266). I still don't know if DDR400 will work though.

It should work, but it will only run as fast as the slowest piece of installed ram, or at the maximum speed that the mobo will support.

I would test before buying if possible...
