Should I overclock?

I found a 2.53 GHz for $114. Thats the best deal I came across.
But, I'm not sure if thats fast enough. I was wondering if I overclocked, would I be able to tell a big difference? I think I might. And, if I was to tell a big difference, how much should I overclock it? I think to 3GHz is too much, but I've never overclocked before. BTW, I have the fans for it.

What is it? I helped my friend overclock his Q6600 to 3GHz, and we didn't even have to overvoltage the northbridge. We did hade to keep lowering the memmory speed, though, because it didn't want to overclock much. It runs at around 30°C to 32°C with air cooling. You will get the most out of it by overclocking.

I don't think so. The Q6600 has a stock speed of 2.4GHz.

what proc are you talking about? hells ya you should OC.. i've got my q6600 (2.4GHz) running at 3.5GHz and have had it up to 4.2GHz.

but if you have to ask, then i think you need to read up more before you undertake ocing.
