    Default Help me pick out a motherboard.

    I am new to computer building/modding, as all of you who have saw me on this forum already know, and I am not sure what to look for in motherboards.
    I would greatly appreciate help :]

    My budget is (flexibly): $85-$100.
    I don't care about the number of usb ports (as long as its over 3)
    I don't care about firewire ports (I'll buy a card if I need some)
    I don't care about ones with video cards and nic's already installed, I mean, I don't care if they have it or not.
    I do want a overclockable motherboard though.
    Socket 775. ATX.

    I found two that I liked but I just skimmed over the motherboard section at TD for like 10 minutes.

    I say go with the 680i SLI. It's full-size ATX and supports SLI. I think I might get that board, and I will also reccommend it for a friend looking for parts.

    ~~~~EDIT The 680i is OEM, so you will need cables. I may have an extra I/O shield, if the one that comes with the case doesn't fit, assuming that it doesn't come with anything. I also have all of those IDE cables.
    How many cables come with non-OEM motherboards?
    OEM stuff usually doesn't come with anything, although it is usually worth the savings.
    What about regular motherboards?
    Do I need to buy a lot of cables if I get that one?
    Retail ones come with everything.You won't need to buy a ton, and I might be able to send you what you need, if you don't want to buy cables.
    Unless you plan on doing SLI, go with one of those. The ECS is cheaper.
    The first one says it only supports a FSB of 1600 & 1333 Mhz and the bottom one say 1333 & 1066 Mhz.
    Somthing to note: Make sure its compatible with the rest of your components.
