Default A corner for a Noob to succeed

    Hello all!

This is my first post on these forums and will definitely not be my last. I am James Atchue owner of Gamerz Revolution a game development team. Aside from game developing I am a student, photographer, gamer, and an all around artistic person.

Due to my imagination I find myself here (referred from Tom's Hardware), to build a case mod. In the near future, starting tomorrow, I will start my first ever computer mod. My base for my project will be the antec three case.

For my mod, it will feature two extensions, one to the top of the case and one to the bottom. The Top will feature the compartment for all liquid cooling needs, likewise the bottom will hold hardware such as extra hard drives. There will be a 6.5" TFT LCD (hopefully) added to the top of the computer to control fan speeds, liquid cooling solutions, hardrives, and diskdrives as well as over clocking. The software that will be run on it is currently undergoing development from one of the programmers from my game development team.

I will be need TONS of help along the way and I hope you guys will be able to help me, thank you for reading and look for my workbook in the forum above starting tomorrow.

It's like JFK announcing the moon mission. He had no expertise in space travel, and no way of knowing if it would work. He just announced "we're going to the moon" and then they made it happen because everyone was on the same page and working towards the same goal. If he had said "well, let's get some people in space, and we'll see how far out we can get, and if I find someone to make a rocket strong enough, we could possibly approach the moon's orbit and maybe land" it wouldn't have happened.

Well heres one simple question for now:

Where can I get a cheap TFT LCD 4.5"-6.5" for under $150 (if thats even possible), I looked around on google a bit but only found solutions for around $450 and got a little nervous about having to take that out of my mod.

Also where I am a stupid noob to liquid cooling, what companies offer a cheap but reliable solution that comes with an insurances policy. (like insured up to $100,000)

Would a PSone LCD be ok for you? As long as you can output to RGB or composite, it will work.

The TFT's can be lucky finds at times, I'd keep an eye on ebay and you might check out this list of suppliers in our ModWiki. You might find a bargain, or even land a sponsor if you are a good talker.

    @ nevermind1534

Yes I actually think that would work very well, thanks alot . I even found a small but informative tutorial about using it for a computer screen.

    @ jdbnsn

Thank you very much for that link, it hit the spot! It will save a lot of time; Not looking for a sponsor really, as this will be my first project and all. Thanks for the idea anyways!

I've got a PS1 screen I'd be willing to part with. Send me a PM, and I'll get back to you sometime on Sunday--I got to go to work right now.
