    Default Key Switch?

I like key switches! I've always had a fetish for them. Idk why....
Anyway I want to incorporate one into my mod, Mark1, but I haven't yet decided how.
I was thinking power, but I want the machine to be able to be turned on remotely, so I think that may not work.
The other thing I was thinking was some kind of user specific settings. Possibly light control...
    Any ideas?

Check out this worklog by danthegeek. In it, he uses a garage door kit to remotely power up his PC. You could do the same, and just use a turn-key to act as the power switch on the remote. Best of both worlds!

you can, its all a matter of wiring.

use a wireless door bell kit, i believe that's what jdbnsn meant

    since i like paint...

here is how to wire up various things

    1. this is how your switch is wired now
    2. you would wire a key switch in series with the power switch
    3. you would wire a key switch in series with the power switch and wire the receiver in parallel to the key switch and power switch. it must be before the key switch and power switch or it won't work.
    4. since you like key switches so much, so do i , why not have 7?!

lol I'd end up losing one of the keys if I had seven!
I am kind of thinking just using a muliple position key switch to control various lighting aspects....

There's one of those (I think it's what you're talking about) wired up to my garage door. But no key for it. When I forget the key to the house, I just pry the panel off and cross the terminals to open the garage door and get into the house.

i have one in my car, though the dam key broke off in the lock, its a 3 position switch. i have it wired to let the turn on the signal wire to my car amp in the second position. in the third it allows me to use a switch to pop my trunk and turn the amp on.
