    Default Chipset

What is a chipset, how do I know which one I have and where do I get the driver for it?

There are 2 chipsets on your mobo, a northbridge and a southbridge. Go to my computer, right click, go to manage and go to system devices. I don't know if this will work if the drivers are not loaded. You can always get the model number of your mobo, and visit yer buddy Google. Drivers should be available from the manufacturers web site. Z..
p.s. I think 3dmark05 will tell you as well. Or CPU-Z..

thats for Intel only .. AMD doesn't have a North Bridge or South Bridge.

Chipset are like 865 or 875 chips sets. Or newer 915

For AMD it could be Nforce2 or nforce4

If you know what mobo you have you can find out the chip set and get the drivers from the manufacture web site as stated above.

That's right, but regardless, cpu-z will tell you what you've got...
