Default Travelling across the country. Anything I should see?

In less than 15 hours, I fly out of Logan Airport in Boston. 8 hours after that, I arrive in Missoula Montana. Anyways, like 3 weeks from now, I'm going to be driving back here to Massachusetts. That means I basically get to take a week traveling to wherever I please along the way to see all different parts of the country. Is there anywhere I should go out of my way to see, or anything special to pass by? Not sure where my route will be going, but if there's something special I want to see, I can probably adjust it a bit.

Go North and check out Glacier Park. You're only going to be about 2.5 hours away once you land in Missoula.

Which way you going back home? If you're going to take Hwy 200 instead of I90 through Montana, PM me, we'll have to meet up, as you'll be going right through Great Falls.

Not sure exactly which way I'll be going. Once in Montana, I'll be traveling with someone else, so he has some say in it as well, but so do I. And I'm glying into Missoula, but then will head to Helena and stay there for a week, and then I'll probably leave from Hamilton once It's time to head back home.

Glacier park does sound interesting though. I'm just worried it's too far north to have to go up there, and then probably back down again.

yellowstone is always fun if you haven't been. and grand teton national park too. if you come through IF in idaho I can put you up in a hotel for ~50-60 bucks that is pretty nice. not super nice, but pretty nice. lol IF is kinda south and out of your way unless you want to go to wyoming, colorado or utah.

I spent 3 months last summer not only working in Yellowstone, but living right in the park. I've experienced enough of it so far. But if it's open by the time I'm leaving, I may just take a stop there to visit some people I knew. I never did get to go to the Teton park though.

it is open, opened april 15th.

and yeah, I have been to Yellowstone so many times I don't like going anymore unless its backcountry trips. those are always fun.

Teton park is really pretty, and jackson hole can be fun if you like going to the bars. other than that its kinda boring haha. If you do go to Grand Teton NP drive through the hoback canyon. Freaking beautiful drive. its a quick (kinda) route to I-80 on HWY 191

I've always preferred Teton over Yellowstone. The first time I went to Yellowstone was in 91, which was 2 years after the big fires. I could have stayed home and saw burnt trees. Teton, however, was largely unaffected by the fires.

Last time I was in Yellowstone was in 2004. Mammoth Hot Springs is pretty much dried up now, and Ol' Faithful isn't all that Faithful anymore.

Yeah, I'd like to pass through there, but I'm not sure how everything's going to work out yet. I'm in Denver right now, and have like another hour to sit around in this airport.

Could be much worse. You could be stuck in Salt Lake.
