Anyone using the OpenDNS nameservers? They are blazing fast compared to my ISPs DNS servers (which are generally down anyway, but whatever). Try 'em out.

Coffee is love, coffee is life.
So this actually makes your webpages load faster? Is the dns one of the main causes of slow loading or something?
First post! woot
Anyway, I use OpenDNS and I love it. Much more control over network info and much faster loading times. It's so easy to set up and use, there's almost no reason not to use it.
The DNS server is what resolves the URL of a website. A third party server (i.e. OpenDNS) which only worries about maintaining the DNS server is much more able to service a wider user base than an ISP who has other issues to worry about.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
We have openDNS on our work computers and it actually slowed down our internet. lame. although I don't notice it as much due to the fact that we moved servers here and the new one is much much faster.

I use it a and I must say it works great...
It's like JFK announcing the moon mission. He had no expertise in space travel, and no way of knowing if it would work. He just announced "we're going to the moon" and then they made it happen because everyone was on the same page and working towards the same goal. If he had said "well, let's get some people in space, and we'll see how far out we can get, and if I find someone to make a rocket strong enough, we could possibly approach the moon's orbit and maybe land" it wouldn't have happened.
