HAHA, thanks p0Pe, yeah so am I lol, the stock DFI one cools much better and looks better lol. I will keep it and perhaps use it in a future HTPC build.

Sorry guys, no update as of yet, had to get new speakers installed in my car today and now it's raining so I don't want to wander down to the shed lol. I have short days of uni for the rest of the week as my practical classes don't run for the first week so perhaps tomorrow or Friday I will be able to get some work done.

Well guys, I finally have something to show you. I had my day off uni today so I turned off my phone, unplugged the TV and turned off the modem and set myself the task to finish my HDD cover. This is what I got up to .

First of all, for those of you who don't know what my original HDD cover look like, here is a pic:

Ok, so here is the cover all masked up and marked for cutting, yeah I had made some prior mods before I got to this stage:

Next up I started the cutting. I decided to use a hacksaw saw as it made a neater cut than the Dremel and gave me more control. So I clamped my piece of plexi to the vice and off I went:

Well soon I ran out of room on the vice and migrated over to the BBQ lol:

And once again I ran out of room on the BBQ so I moved over to the work bench, got a block of wood and picked up my Dremel:

The cover all cut out, took all of 2 mins lol:

    Holes drilled:

    And countersunk:

Next I measured and marked up a piece of mesh:

Cut it out with tin snips:

Drilled the corresponding holes and gave it a test mount on the plexi:

It all fitted well so I gave it a quick test install:

    Fits like a glove .
Finally I painted the mesh, cleaned up the plexi and attached the two together:

    Then I installed the cover:

Turned out pretty well I think .

Well that's the last, the final piece of LEXA that needed tweaking or re-doing so now all I am waiting for is a nice clear sunny day for the final photo shoot, then this mod is 100% complete and I can focus my attention of designing my next mod .

Well that's it for now, just waiting on the weather . Until then...

    Happy Modding.
