Given the choice, I think I would take the route that the OP posted rather than bust out an enterprise solution. I've got nothing to hide--in fact, here's a list of what I google:

    • Football
    • Porno
    • Books about War

And before you ask, yes, I do indeed have an average sized house, with a nice hardwood floor.

That's all fine and well, but do you want to sing us a song about the American dream?

Did someone say FOOTBALL? Yes it is almost time for the greatest sport man has ever played and I am not talking about that faux sport you guys call football across the pond. If it isn't played with a brown pigskin, on a 100 yard field with 2 goal post on each end then its not football. With that said, in college football this is the year of the dawg. As for NFL I am taking either the Titans, Pats, or Buccs to go all the way this year.

Do any of you guys ever still run in to a problem w/ devices not supporting WPA or WPA2. It could just be because my family generally has older and/or cheaper equipment but it's not uncommon for me to be incapable of using more advanced encryption simply because not all of the devices that would be on the network support it. Maybe its just me. Hell, I don't think the router my Girlfriends family has even supports it. It's a combination router/modem supplied by the ISP so i didn't expect it to be professional gear, but damn, not supporting WPA, it's like they WANT customers to share wifi.

Well I did have problems with Windows 7 not working on WEP networks, but it works fine on WPA and WPA2 networks. IIRC only old 802.11b devices don't support WPA.

The Nintendo DS only works with WEP. With WEP, I wasn't even able to get it to work, so I just left it unprotected. Same with the Wii. I look at who connects to the wireless, and I never see anything other than my computers. If I did, I'd probably set WPA2.
