Anyone feel like walking me through installing a lamp server on ubuntu?

I am trying to install a drupal sandbox on a p3 rig I was given this weekend. I just installed ubuntu but am lost on how to go about setting up a local host and lamp server.

If you install the server version of Ubuntu, there should be a part where you can tell it to install the LAMP portions automatically.

Fedora is a much better OS to build a LAMP with IMO. I have a thread about it somewhere around here.

got it working on ubuntu but thats as far as I have went. I will play around more with it this weekend.
