Well, I figured it's been waaaaay too long since I've done anything around here. I've been catching flak from a few members about how I'm more interested in my guitar than in computers these days (it's true), so I figured, "why not combine the two somehow?"

No, I'm not building a computer in a guitar, or a computerized guitar or anything like that.

I'm thinking about building myself an Opeth themed system. Nothing fancy, since I have a budget of -$250,000. I'll be using my current hardware plus a few new bits and pieces (fans, etc).

This will be mostly a digital audio source for my stereo, with some limited gaming (older stuff, emulators, etc) and *maybe* some recording capabilities.

Just a couple ideas so far... mostly to do with the UI.

I'll be cutting a few sound clips for the windows audio theme, and I've got a few nice images figured out for wallpaper, window image (either etching or printed to a transparency), and a few icons.

As far as the hardware goes, I'm definitely going to be using as much of my old hardware as possible, since I dont have any money for this build.

AMD 3800+ X2, 2gb PC3200 ram, 80gb HDD + 750gb External, corsair 550w psu, Antec case.

I'll be swapping out fans to make this thing as near silent as possible.

Between mortgage, credit cards, and vehicle, I'm a quarter million in the hole. Therefore, I can spend nothing on this.

Also, I *MIGHT* have a 4200+ X2 coming my way...
