red alert tesla coil

ok, i was going to do like a tall basic pillar, but want a theme. so i remembered this:

ok, i would do three red 'legs', the front two of which having two computers in each steath rack mounted style. between those on the main 'tower' having a large hd bay (20ish hd's) and two xbox 360's.

the only thing im worried about is the ball on top and the rings, how would i make those? they should be chrome to fit the theme.any suggestions?
