    Default use wood or metal?

    ok, im making a large turret. it would look best made out of metal, but this is going to be motor powered so weight is an issue. could i make it of wood and paint it to look like metal?

    You could, or you could make it out of light weight wood and plate it with thin sheet metal.

    (I'm interested in this project, lol)
