People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

XP is a great OS. I don't think this device would be able to support Vista or Win7. Maybe though, but XP is lighter than both of those, isn't it?

Lightweight and basically perfected, sounds like a good deal to me. They could of used Linux I suppose, but Windows is easier to use for 98% of the population.

I have to call BS due to the fact that microsoft discontinued winXP early last year. Sure you can get copies from retailers that still have it stocked but microsoft doesn't sell or even support it anymore as far as i know. Although winXP is a familiar OS, it's simply overkill for a phone. It's like putting a rocket engine on a VW bug. Plus, who in their right mind would put a HDD in a hand held device? I'm sure those disk platters will last long...

As of April 2008, Microsoft is extending availability of Windows XP Home Edition for OEMs to install on Ultra Low-Cost PCs. The new OEM end date will be the later of either June 30, 2010, or one year after the general availability of the next version of Windows.
AKA netbooks, and possibly phones. There goes my argument.

It's still supported, and will be until 21 April 2010. 24 month life cycle on SP3, which was released 21 April 2008.
