17 in. screen in PC - questions

Yo

I have a case kind of like this:

and i want it to be kind of like this:

except without the panel on the back that opens and the extension that allows the cords to be plugged inside.

I will just have the LCD power cable and the VGA cable (whatever it is) come out the back out of a hole in the bottom of the case nd then they will just plug into the video card and my power bar.

My question is regarding the fan, opposite the motherboard side. I was just wondering how am i going to relocate the fan so that i do not loose any cooling in my PC, but still have the LCD on that side?

Maybe i could put it on the top?

any answers would be great.

Might be worth desiging and measuring this out before you do anything. Get it measured out and then decide the best place for the fans. Probably on top, like Nawl says.

well its just one fan so should i just relocate it to go on the top or get a whole new one?

what should i use to cut out the metal with?

I am assuming that the side fan is an intake (not exhaust). If so, I would locate it at the bottom, bring in the cooler air. It will also blow air accross the back of the LCD.
I agree with Nawl, I would also add a blowhole to the top. Full cross ventilation.

Cutting the hole - jigsaw for rough cut, dremel for detail cut, file and sandpaper for cleaning. Ideally, however, a hole saw would work best - if you have one.
