right.
well, I haven't cut anything up in three or four years, and as much as I love my CM Stacker, I'm thinking what with my recent getting of a job and all, that I really need to hack **** up and create something.
Not to mention, I have what I think are awesome ideas.
Right now I've got two ideas but I'll probably go for #1.
1. get two/three mid or full tower cases, all identical. ATX layout, bottom-mount PSU and hard drives in a partitioned area of the case that isn't visible when the case is closed. Motherboard tray lifted an inch or two off the backing plate for cable management.
Optical drive (I only have one) in the topmost slot. Plexiglass or 1/16th Alu. sheets covering everything to make it look slick. Black paint, plenty of blue lights.
Two 120mm fans on the front cover, mounted at the bottom, one on top of the other. The bottom one tilted backwards at an angle of fifteen degrees, the top one lining up with the rear of the bottom (meaning the bottom of the case will protrude out further than the rest of it, but only in the front). Plenty of switches and buttons to control lighting, maybe a few temperature/voltage/etc gauges.
Watercooling if I can spring for it. Basically a slick, clean looking case with some good, but switch-controlled lights (so I can turn them off at night and actually get to sleep).
2. get two or three identical mid-tower ATX cases, then build it horizontally (instead of vertically), and do it up in a post-apocalyptic "radio" kinda fashion. Worn paint, randomly flickering gauges with really thin needles, green lights, again; switches, and a hidden or slot loading CD drive. antennae, copper tubing, something that would look kinda robust but definitely worn out.
Or maybe I'll do both under different names...
What do you all think?
I'll try to get sketches up here soon of what I'm thinking of.
