Default The Best of Linux - According to Nerds

    http://forums.techarena.in/polls-voting/1180091.htm

Ubuntu is 1st place, Mint in 2nd place. I'd have to agree. Although, personally, I think Mint looks better and more user-friendly than Ubuntu. Mint has a very Windows feel to it, whereas Ubuntu is a bit different.

Anyways, thought this was an interesting find. I could have started a poll here, but meh, that one is much more well developed with what, 700 votes and all. lol

Which would you guys say is easiest to use for newcomers?
People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

Ubuntu. Only because it has such a HUGE following. Any problem I've ever had was fixed with about five minutes of google just because it has already been covered on either the Ubuntu forum, or in the resources.

Of course, I still have no idea how to uninstall the FUBAR Ati drivers I have installed, so I'm back to Windows at the moment lol.

Sort of. It's based on Ubuntu.

Ubuntu. It's got a solid foundation in Debian, corporate backing (ish), a huge user base, and good integration/distribution of new proprietary drivers.

If you're interested in the relationship of various distros to each other, I found this chart a week or so ago: http://futurist.se/gldt/gldt93.png Warning: HUGE file. It's a graphical timeline of the various Linux distros; it's interesting to see how ~80-90% of all modern distros are based on either Debian, Red Hat, or Slackware.

Debian is more or less the best for me. Then, you can pick Mint or Ubuntu (or Fedora), overall for newbies came from windows.

Lastly I'm working with Arch Linux and I'm very happy about it.

I like Mint of Ubuntu, but I don't really use either.
