    Default Acrylic Bracelet

With cash flow tight right now, the wife and I decided to do home-made gifts for Christmas. I decided to finish Rockin Case for her. While I was workin on that I thought of something else. I saw her Jade bracelet and figured I'd make one out of Acrylic.

sorry for the cell phone pics. if I brought the digi down the wife would have been asking why lol. click on pics for bigger versions

I cut 2 green and one red circle out of plexi

    and glued them together

I decided to make it thicker by putting a piece of red on either side. only problem was the red I have is too thick to put on both sides

so I decided to cut it in half

but the bandsaw was too rough, it broke it

so I cut another circle and used a hacksaw to cut it by hand this time

    took longer but it worked!

    and glued

roughly sanded with her jade bracelet on top for size comparison

    and a rough rounded-shape

    after 120 grit

    after 240 grit

    after 1000 grit

    after 1500 ad 2000 grit

I cut the inside out with a side cutter bit mounted in the drill press

and a rough rounded sanding of the inside

    after 120, 240, 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit

after a polishing with the dremel. started with a buffing wheel with novus polish #3, then #2, then #1.

the weld-on made some interesting "flakes" where the acrylic was glued together. I think it actually made it look pretty neat

and a few shots with better lighting.

I think she'll like it. now to wait for christmas to find out!!

mods feel free to put this in the competed section

People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

    That looks really cool +Rep
Could also do something like that for around a front intake fan or blowhole.

You should get it etched or etch it yourself with something, just for that extra bit of special. Just a thought.

    That was my reaction exactly.

Can we get some dimensions on that thing? Outer and maybe inner diameter would be good.

Nice! I really like the idea of home made gifts. Means a little more that way. I'll probably be in that boat myself as a seasonal layoff where I work is coming, they just won't tell us when. By the way +rep
