I try to launch the game out of steam, it says sync never gets past 0% and doesn't launch. Any idea's?

Also I try to verify it in the properties and it tells me 5 files failed to verify. It trys to re-download them but tells me they are already there.

This may sound stupid but have you closed steam and reopened it? Sometimes I find I need to do this.

I turned the firewall off to see if it was blocking it, still nothing.
