Default Photoshoppin-not safe for small children, old ladies, dogs, people with pacemakers...

Alright boy and girls, hobos and tramps, I've been teaching myself Photoshop. Since I'm quite used to GIMP, this is a bit different to say the least. So far, here's what I've done to Milla Jovovich:

The eye needs a bit of work, I know that. Any and all comments are more than welcome. I'll be getting a wacom board in the very near future, so hopefully that'll help improve my work.

Its sacrilege for such a pretty face.. but not a bad start at all!

The only thing I can suggest is to make her overall complexion a bit more pale.

I would do this by copying your source layer.. convert it to grayscale and then crank down the opacity.

Make sure the copied layer is above the source but below the effects.

Kind of like what I did to my cousin's pic then.

Also, I'm not too fond of that green eye. I've always envisioned zombies to have red eyes.

If you take a ~7 brush to the crack in the gash on the left cheek, soft light and blur the hell out of it it will give a deeper effect.

Did you make the wounds from scratch? If so they are damn creative.

No, looked up a whole slew of tumor pictures. Much better effect than bleu cheese. And thanks for the feedback guys, I completely forgot about this thread.

I'd say that the wounds need more organic edges. They are too perfectly brushed. That can be fixed with either a larger fading-gradient or just breaking up the straight edges.
    I'll procrastinate tomorrow.
