    Default Breathtaking photos thread!

Post links to some literally breathtaking photos!!!

    I'll start it out:

It's like JFK announcing the moon mission. He had no expertise in space travel, and no way of knowing if it would work. He just announced "we're going to the moon" and then they made it happen because everyone was on the same page and working towards the same goal. If he had said "well, let's get some people in space, and we'll see how far out we can get, and if I find someone to make a rocket strong enough, we could possibly approach the moon's orbit and maybe land" it wouldn't have happened.

I read the title and thought it was going to be members photo's. . I always find that more impressive than untouchable professionals works.

Still very nice photographs though. Some in that list didn't look all that great on what very little technical knowledge I have, but I guess the crazy hard to photograph subject matter in them makes up for it.

    Sweet pics though.

Heehee, I love the guppy (in the first link). It's just such an odd looking plane.

Does anyone know what's going on with the drifting aircraft carrier in the second link?

^_o What in the name of the great flying spaghetti monster is that thing???

..upon further research, it appears that it is the MD-160 Lun-class ekranoplan. Even more interesting, this apparently was the only one ever made, so this is a truly unique plane (in keeping with this site ).
