Default Early Birthday present to myself

So I decided to give myself an early birthday present in a Savage Arms 17 HMR heavy barrel type of way. I love, love, love this thing. I was trying to decide between a 10/22 and a .17 HMR since about the time someone stole my marlin 22 lr. This thing is surprisingly easy to hold even in the heavy barrel variety, whisper quiet and deadly accurate just ask the dandelion heads I was shooting at 50 yards. Also for you naysayers that say I should use a 22 here you go .

Now please I am not trying to start an argument over gun laws and gun control I do not want to hear it and I am just showing off my new toy.

Heheh, very nice. Have fun! (Safe fun, but fun!)

Nice work man! I also have a 17 HMR and love it to pieces! Also bought a Mossberg .308. although they typically aren't renowned for making the best rifles, i still love it the most out of all my guns! It's probably the 260 dollar Nikon scope that makes me so amorous though! lol

I prefer the bolt only because I do all my target practice in prone position. I shoot long range 200 yards +. In prone the lever just gets in the way and you have to move your head and arm and totally loose the target in the process. However. For hunting I do prefer the lever!

I almost picked up a .17 from the gunshow last year for plinking but decided not to because range fees are outrageous here in San Diego and being California, there isn't anywhere to shoot besides ranges or the desert.

I live on 101.5 acres with state forests and corn fields for neighbors so I have pretty free reign on where I can shoot. There is a gun show this weekend hopefully I can either pick up a scope or a pac-lite upper and barrel for my MKII.
