Hi everyone long time viewer first time poster
I've been wondering what is the best blade for a jig saw for cutting plexiglass.
Found this on Black and Decker's webpage
Last time I cut plexiglass I used a metal blade -- more teeth. Hope that helps.Question
How do I choose the best blade for the application?
Answer
To make your job easier, we have marked our jig saw blades for either wood or metal cutting. As a rule, the more teeth on the blade the better the finish of the cut. We also recommend keeping a minimum of 2 teeth in the material at all times.
Bosh Makes a blade just for cutting Plex. I can't remember the # right off hand but I'd give that a go. I've had great luck with there blades, they cut smoother and last longer then the cheaper brands. In some cases 2 to 1 (cheapy to Bosh), that was cutting 1/4" 6061 Aluminum stock.
Look for high teeth count and the "Clean" type (leaves the edge smoother then the "Basic" type).
Good Luck,

Thnx, check that out and bosch seems to be killer for these specific skill trades..... only prob is I don't have a bosch jigsaw or have the new U-shank saw. Going to try a fine wood blade see if that will give a clean enough cut.
