August 16th is when Elvis died. In tribute, a local radio talk show host (some of you might know him) Don Geronimo does a Elvis death day broadcast. You can listen online at http://khtk.cbslocal.com/
Have fun.

Same day my grandmother died, so no joy for me...
On another note, Mt. Rose Ski Resort in Nevada holds an annual Elvis day to celebrate his birthday. Half priced tickets for anyone who dresses as Elvis and all of the lift operators and other employees all dress up as Elvis and some of them are serenading you as you walk up to the ticket windows. Kind of fun and I make sure not to miss it.
"...Dumb all over, A little ugly on the side... "...Frank Zappa...
Agreed. Lots of people make the pilgrimage to Graceland every year at this time after all.
I plan on having a PB, Banana and Bacon sandwich for lunch to celebrate.
