    Default Project: Petron

(I know it's not spelt the same but whatever)

Many of us are inspired by different things....whether it be in the fantasy or reality realm. Racing has been a big part of my life and boy do i love it!
Whether it's a roar of a corvette or the scream of a Le Mans Prototype...the American Le Mans Series has always been exciting for me; and it is with this that i draw my inspiration from:

The Tequila Petron "Acura Powered" LMP!

Over 600hp, 0-100mph in three seconds and can exceed 200 mph.

Now i won't go with the black and green like the car instead i'll go with white as the main color because at the moment i have so much white spray paint up the butthole.........that i'd rather use that than get black and then have all these black and white spray paint cans laying around.

Music featured that i was jammin' to while working:
    1. Got Money - Lil Wayne
    2. Move, Shake, Drop it - Dj Laz, Flo Rida
    3. Shawty Say - David Banner feat. Lil Wayne
    4. Dead and Gone - T.I. feat J.T.
    5. Live Your Life - Rihanna
    6. Heroes of our time - Dragonforce
    7. Take It Out On Me - Bullet for my valentine
    8. Open Your Eyes - DJ Encore
    9. Right Na Na Na - Akon
    10. Dust to Dust - Special D.
    11. Rebirthing - Skillet
    12. Maniac - DJ Massiv vs. The Rebel
    13. Ride On A Meterorite - Dj Geremy Remix

And so with that being said...HERE....WE....GO!!!!

    DAY 1: 08/03/10

Every rig design has to start out with some sort of planning!

More of my caveman drawings...some of these plans will be implemented but i have some ideas on what i could add in the future.

***( Sorry, i didn't know which picture ratio would work better..medium or large)***

    Frame supply list:
    1/16" x 1/2" 8ft Angle Aluminum
    1/16" x 1/2" 12ft Channel Aluminum

Two 4ft pieces ready to be cut!

Safety Glasses... I didn't want to look like popeye....just yet.
Haha, that and i didn't want Fire Marshall Bill storming in.....
    "Lemme Sho' Ya' Sumtin'!"

Two pieces cut....two more to go!!!!

Four pieces cut and ready for filing!

Now i know your probably thinking....why two clamps?

    I bought a 8ft piece channel aluminum!

Let me tell ya....a 8ft piece of metal is a pain in the butt to clamp and cut.

I tried to develop a method on cutting channel aluminum and it's working pretty well! My method was starting a one corner, cutting into it and moving to the other edge and then cutting one side thin enough so that when i cut the other side it would just break off. (See photos)

    Flash

    No Flash

All the longer channel pieces cut, 3 more short pieces to go!

My weapon of choice, using a hacksaw would've taken A LOT longer!
It got really hot while cutting through the channel aluminum and in this picture i could just imagine it saying "F**k.......You".

One more side to go.......One more side to go!

All the cut channel....waiting to be filed!

Glamor shots! Haha sorry i couldn't help myself with the whole A thing.

    That's it for today kiddies!
Wait until next time for some high thrill, modding action!

    DAY 2 & 3: 08/04/10-08/05/10

I really want to have my own place. It's hard to work when you don't have a key to the garage. Anyways, i have been filing and honing away so the pieces fit more flush together so i have a perfect 90.

I have been working very hard on being as clean and percise as possible. Since the frame is being built first, it has to be near perfect for everything else to fall into place!

Pics will be uploaded as soon as i get them off the camera...i can't seem to find the usb to it, so i have to run around to different computers to them uploaded.

    DAY 4

Haven't been up to much, i am still tapping and drilling the frame. The bottom of the frame is near complete. I still haven't been able to upload the pictures from the other day, i'll try to after work today! I'll start using a different camera so i can upload pics as soon as the work is done for the day. You may or may not see a difference in quality but i apologize in advance if the quality ends up failing horribly.

Ain't they just nasty this year. All the rain sure didn't help either.
