Default I think i fried something

i was messing around with my overclock settings on my computer, got it to 3.33ghz, and was stressing it, then my screen went black and my computer wont power on. (it powers on, but just the lights are on, nobody home) Something is fried (already took out the GPU and tried onboard video) but im not getting anything, no usb power, basicly as far as i can tell something is very very dead... please help, im freaking out.

edit: im 99% sure either the mobo is fried, or the cpu is dead. but i could really use help to figure out which, or could it be my powersupply? when i press the button the fans spin up and the pump comes on

    this is my mobo

Try resetting the CMOS. First and formost, this should save you. It sounds like a failed overclock. *unless you smell burning break smell*

just pull the battery? Im hoping that if worst comes to worst its just the CPU... (gives me an excuse to upgrade to a new quad) but ill be happy if its something simple...

You need to pull the battery, and then discharge the system. Id say wait a healthy few minutes and put your battery back in. You discharge the system by pressing the power button while your PSU is unplugged.

there should be a clear cmos jumper on your board somewhere as well. swap the jumper, try to power on. if it still doesn't work, do the battery and unplug the PSU thing

    :EDIT:

after zooming in on the newegg pic of your mobo, the clear cmos jumper is between your two white pci slots. It's labeled CLR_CMOS. put a jumper on that and if it's a failed overclock that should save it

thanks guys... it was easier to pull the battery, (im lazy...) because it was bigger. its working again now, and i figured out what i did. default ht link speed on my processor is 1.8, while i was oc'ing i accidently set it to 2.6... yeah... i think im an idiot. lol. but i did get it back to its stable 3.333ghz and its 100% running again. +reps for everyone!!

Glad the CMOS reset worked! For future notice, if the CPU is fried, generally nothing happens when you try to turn it on.

Told ya! It's pretty much impossible to fry anything while overclocking (within reasonable limits)
