    Does he still have the packaging and receipt? If so, take that sucker back for a refund/exchange. The one thing I actually like about BB is their return policy.

    Nightrain makes a very good point about the DHCP..yet another licensing laden blob of awfulness. I hadn't realized that any post-8000 series nVidia cards didn't have HDCP support, but I guess if it's their bottom line card...ugh.

    well he i talked to him and he is going to return the card at best buy and let me order him the right card from newegg. anyone have any suggestions. only requirement is it cant be to beefy single slot. he has a 300 watt ps sooo that the limiting factor here really.

    What kind of budget? What other hardware is he running? I'd suggest searching newegg. I just did a quick search and it turned up over 500 HDCP ready cards.

    hes has a quad core. and 3 gigs of ram. try to keep it below 100.

    This is only $20AR and will bit-stream audio on top of all the usual htpc needs. And it is HDCP ready.

    Just saw this, so do your research before running off to purchase, but should be a very good htpc card, especially for the money.
